Abstract
Italo Calvino dans Les villes invisibles (1972) et Federico Fellini dans Le Casanova de Fellini (1976) affrontent les mêmes problèmes de représentation : comment surprendre et rendre visible la ville de Venise à travers des mots ou des images-sons en mouvement et comment la fixer sur un support quand sa qualité primordiale, celle qui fait son unicité et son charme, est sa continuelle évanescence ? Pour les surmonter, Calvino et Fellini adoptent la même stratégie : la constitution progressive de Venise comme ville implicite qui, dans une forme quelconque, se retrouve dans toutes les autres villes, réelles ou fictives.
