Cet article propose une étude comparative de la figure de la « maison au bled » dans le cinéma européen par le biais de deux études de cas consacrées à West is West (De Emmony, 2010) et Almanya: Willkommen in Deutschland (Şamdereli, 2011); soit deux comédies mettant en scène l’expérience post-migratoire de familles respectivement anglo-pakistanaise et germano-turque et la rencontre avec la maison au bled après un voyage de retour. L’analyse de la nostalgie du pays d’origine est mise en parallèle avec une interrogation des formes d’habiter mises en scène. Elle permet d’interroger les rapports aux mémoires personnelles et collectives ainsi qu’aux attachements fantasmés au pays d’origine transmis aux enfants, qu’ils soient rejetés ou réappropriés.
