Abstract
Cet article fait l’analyse des éléments paratextuels, textuels, formels et poétiques de l’album Gesamtkunstwerk du groupe Dead Obies et vise à en faire émerger les mécanismes de coconstruction de sens. L’analyse montre comment l’album met en oeuvre un métadiscours qui constitue à la fois une revendication artistique et un discours sur le travail, tant celui qu’exige la construction de l’oeuvre que celui, littéralement alimentaire, qui permet de mettre du pain sur la table. En ce sens, l’album devient une réponse à la controverse linguistique dont le groupe a fait l’objet.
