Abstract
This paper aims to discuss neoliberal economic theory and its developments, making a historical parallel to the search for the Minimum State and individualizing influence on people's behavior, bringing the discussion to the present time, where we still live in the midst of a covid 19 pandemic. As for the theoretical framework, in addition to consulting the various works related to the subject, the work was anchored in the theory of Dardot and Laval (2016), who, through a political-social and psychoanalytic approach to this subject, conclude that neoliberalism does not represent only an economic theory, but a new global rationality, which, among other consequences, has a tendency towards the domination of man and how he becomes “governed”. It is in this scenario that we insert human beings and society in this new world order, with all its ills and idiosyncrasies, and all this in the midst of a pandemic.
