Abstract

Des analyses par uranium-thorium (U–Th-TIMS), par résonance de spin électronique combinée à l’U–Th (ESR/U–Th) et par luminescence stimulée optiquement (OSL) ont été réalisées sur des échantillons provenant de la formation de Waziers, en France septentrionale. Ces trois méthodes ont été respectivement appliquées sur un échantillon de gyrogonite provenant d’un niveau corrélé à l’unité stratigraphique US5, sur des dents d’herbivore provenant de l’unité US4 sous-jacente ou recueillies en limite des US4 et US5 et sur deux prélèvements sédimentaires de l’US4. Les résultats obtenus permettent de dater la mise en place des unités ayant livré les dents analysées de la transition entre le Tardiglaciaire saalien (SIM, 6) et l’Interglaciaire eemien (SIM 5e), en bon accord avec les données paléoenvironnementales disponibles, issues des études malacologiques et palynologiques. Les dates OSL obtenues sur les deux échantillons de sédiments de l’US4 sont globalement compatibles avec celles obtenues par ESR/U–Th sur des dents issues de cette même unité ou de la limite entre US4 et US5. L’âge obtenu sur la gyrogonite, bien qu’indiquant un âge contemporain du SIM 5, apparaît pour sa part légèrement sous-estimé et doit donc bien être considéré comme un âge minimum.
