Abstract
La guerre contre la drogue menée aux Philippines depuis 2016 est soutenue par une majorité de la population. Certains alliés du président Rodrigo Duterte défendent le rétablissement de la peine capitale dans l’archipel, en se basant sur une argumentation théologico-politique. Ces alliés sont l’instrument d’un nouveau type de pouvoir évangélique qui se manifeste également aux États-Unis et au Brésil. À partir du cas particulier du groupe réformé BornAgain et une partie des résultats d’une enquête menée entre 2019 et 2021, l’article présenté est ancré dans une perspective des sciences de l’éducation. Il vise à décrire la mise en oeuvre du pouvoir évangélique, ainsi que certaines de ses caractéristiques, en proposant une réflexion sur le changement de rapport au savoir qui s’opère par la mise en oeuvre de la doctrine évangélique et la question de la vérité du sujet, dont l’autorité civile s’est emparée.
