An examination of exercise partners preferred by university students
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to investigate university students’ (N=296) perceptions of the effectiveness of various potential exercise partners on a new exerciser’s tendency to adhere to a physical activity programme over an extended period of time. Participants read one of four scenarios involving initiation of an exercise programme alone, or in the company of a personal trainer, an experienced exerciser, or another new exerciser. Results indicated that significant differences (p<.05) were present among the types of exercise partners selected over the five time periods assessed. A personal trainer and an experienced exerciser were perceived as most effective for ensuring adherence from three months to one year. These findings suggest that for promoting exercise adherence, students perceive a personal trainer or experienced exerciser as a more effective exercise partner than another new exerciser or exercising alone. Future studies should examine the reasons behind this perception and the effectiveness of this type of intervention.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
