Abstract
Comprender los factores que determinan la variación en la distribución de una especie, reconociendo que la asociación con su hábitat puede variar entretemporadas fenológicas, permite hacer predicciones sobre su distribución ante los cambios globales. El objetivo del estudio fue analizar cómo varía la asociación con el hábitat y la distribución del tordo sargento (Agelaius phoeniceus) por temporada reproductiva (mayo-julio) y no reproductiva (diciembre-enero) en la península de Yucatán, México. Se usaron listas de eBird para generar datos de detección/no detección de la especie y la cobertura del suelo/cobertura urbana como indicador del tipo de hábitat. Se usó random forest para modelar la probabilidad de ocurrencia y distribución por temporada con la detección/no detección como variable de respuesta y 13 covariables de cobertura del suelo, dos de luces de la ciudad, ycuatro de esfuerzo de muestreo como predictores. Los predictores con mayor aportación relacionados de forma positiva con la ocurrencia fueron la sabana, sabana leñosa, pastizales, humedales, número de observadores, distancia y duración de la observación. Los más relacionados de forma negativa fueron el bosque perenne, las luces de la ciudad y hora de inicio de la observación. En ambas temporadas, la especie ocurre en tipos de vegetación cercanos a la costa o vegetación inundable (humedales, sabana y pastizales), y evita bosques y ciudades, sugiriendo que la asociación especie-hábitat del tordo sargento en la región es poco afectada por la estacionalidad.
