View Video Presentation: https://doi.org/10.2514/6.2023-0834.vid The idea of a 20 km high tower to reduce rocket launch costs was first proposed by the Canadian Space Company. This is not feasible with conventional building structure. In the previous study, a structure with multiple cylindrical inflatable membrane structures was presented as the basic structure and its feasibility has been examined. However, the compressive properties of this structure as a shell have not been studied. Therefore, in this study, for a new tower structure consisting of multiple hexagonal high-density structures, the buckling loads under the self-weight and wind loads of the tower structure were investigated to show the feasibility of this structural concept.
