Abstract
L'importation de chiens infects par la rage entrane des risques importants et coteux pour la sant du public et des animaux.En janvier 2022, un chien de l'Ontario, Canada, qui a t import d'Iran en juin 2021, a dvelopp la rage, menant une vaste enqute de sant publique et l'administration de prophylaxie aprs l'exposition la rage pour 37 personnes.Le chien a t infect par un variant de la rage connu pour circuler en Iran.Il s'agit du deuxime cas signal d'un chien infect par la rage qui a t import au Canada en 2021 d'un pays haut risque pour la rage d'origine canine.Ce cas souligne la ncessit de sensibiliser le public aux risques associs l'importation de chiens de pays haut risque pour la rage d'origine canine et aux avantages de la cration d'une quipe de sant publique spcialise dans les enqutes sur l'exposition la rage.
