O presente trabalho teve como escopo analisar as concepções que os estudantes do curso de Licenciatura em Ensino da Química do Instituto Superior de Ciências de Educação da Huíla (ISCED- Huíla) têm sobre conceitos-base da teoria das soluções como são ‘solução’, ‘soluto’ e ‘solvente’. Para a realização do estudo, recorreu-se à revisão bibliográfica que permitiu sistematizar os referentes teóricos sobre o tema. A recolha dos dados foi efectivada por via da aplicação de um questionário a um grupo de estudantes do referido curso, no ano académico 2018. As questões foram analisadas por categorias de respostas, com a finalidade de organizar os resultados no que se refere ao conhecimento e aos significados atribuídos pelos estudantes aos conceitos mencionados. As respostas dos estudantes revelaram um grupo de concepções relacionadas com a visão macroscópica do processo de dissolução e com uma certa superficialidade no conhecimento dos critérios para identificar os componentes ‘soluto’ e ‘solvente’ de uma solução, que se revelam como concepções alternativas dos estudantes sobre esses conceitos químicos.
