Abstract
O presente artigo objetiva analisar e obter dados a respeito da atuação do Ministério Público do Rio Grande do Norte frente às demandas de improbidade administrativa e como ocorre o trâmite dessas ações objetivando verificar se, de fato, a Lei nº 8.429/92 (Lei de Improbidade Administrativa), é um mecanismo efetivo no combate e repreensão à corrupção. Para tanto foi utilizado o método histórico-dedutivo. Lançou-se mão da pesquisa documental realizada na sede da 3ª Promotoria de Justiça da Comarca de Caicó/RN, aliados aos dados consultados no sítio eletrônico do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte.
