Abstract
En Afrique francophone, l’arbre et/ou la forêt (e) fédère (nt) une pluralité d’imaginaires dont la force et les caractéristiques assortissent de valeurs et symbolismes d’essence vitale. Chez Jean Pliya, il laisse interférer un imaginaire mytho-religieux et écologique inspiré de l’Animisme qui lui semble consubstantiel. À l’aune de la mythocritique durandienne et de l’écocritique, le décryptage de la double figure associée à l’arbre permet de comprendre qu’il établit des correspondances cosmiques spécifiques et universelles et conjugue l’humain et le non-humain dans leur totalité pour féconder et fixer l’existence.
