Richard Buckminster Fuller viu o seu nome imortalizado no universo da arquitetura ao assinar a autoria da famosa cúpula geodésica em aço e acrílico, cujo diâmetro de 76 m definia o volume do pavilhão dos Estados Unidos da América no contexto da Expo 67 do Quebeque, Canadá. Após algumas históricas vicissitudes, o pavilhão, conhecido como La Biosphère de Montreal, situado no Parque Jean Drapeau na ilha de Santa Helena, é um conjunto emblemático que assume hoje a função de museu ambiental.
