Abstract
La produzione letteraria di Alice Munro affonda le sue radici nell’esperienza di matrice autobiografica. I racconti partono da un frammento di vita quotidiana e si evolvono nell’universo immaginifico del Canada rurale, luogo dove la scrittrice è nata e cresciuta. Munro assorbe le emozioni di una vitalità soggettiva e le rielabora ridefinendole sotto forma di esperienza collettiva. I luoghi narrati, che appartengono al personalissimo reticolo geografico di una memoria lontana, divengono lo scenario perfetto dove ambientare le vicende di personaggi universali. Dell’amplio profluvio della sua produzione letteraria merita una particolare attenzione la raccolta Chi ti credi di essere?, considerata da molti il manifesto della cifra stilistica della Munro.
