Abstract
Autor se v textu studie pokusil ukázat a rozebrat zcela zásadní vliv biskupa (arcibiskupa) Alberta ze Šternberka na město Šternberk. I když měl biskup mnoho povinností se správou svých diecézí (zvěřínský biskup, litomyšlský biskup, magdeburský arcibiskup) a mnoho povinností na panovnickém dvoře císaře Karla IV., vždy si našel časový prostor pro realizaci svých záměrů s městem Šternberkem.Nepodařilo se z písemných pramenů doložit, že by biskup lokoval samotné město Šternberk (tzv. druhá lokace města). Za daného stavu písemných pramenů nelze určit, zda biskup přenesl centrum města do současné polohy nebo to udělali již jeho předchůdci. Na tuto otázku by dokázal dát odpověď pouze rozsáhlý archeologický výzkum, který by nám pomohl datovat vznik jednotlivých částí města. Podařilo se prokázat, že biskup dokončil výstavbu městských hradeb a přestavoval šternberský hrad (vybudoval hradní kapli a možná celé jižní křídlo hradu). Biskup zásadním způsobem změnil tvář města založením dvou klášterů, z nichž ovšem ten dolní po biskupově smrti jeho nástupce Petr ze Šternberka zrušil.
