Abstract
Cet article analyse la représentation des spectres de l’hydro dans une oeuvre d’art public, Iiyiyiu-Iinuu de l’artiste cri Tim Whiskeychan, et une oeuvre littéraire, Ourse bleue de l’écrivaine métisse crie Virginia Pésémapéo Bordeleau. Les deux oeuvres partagent comme toile contextuelle la disparition des sépultures eeyouch lors des inondations causées par le développement hydroélectrique sur les rivières Eastmain et Rupert dans les années 2000. Reposant sur l’hypothèse que l’extraction de la ressource hydroélectrique détruit des lieux de vie dans un geste nécropolitique, cet article examine les manières dont les deux oeuvres refusent l’effacement en mettant en scène les morts comme des relations dont il faut prendre soin malgré et en dépit de la transformation du territoire. Alors qu’Iiyiyiu-Iinuu évoque le deuil d’une communauté et crée un lieu de mémoire collectif au coeur de la zone de destruction, Ourse bleue dépeint le deuil personnel d’une femme qui communie avec les esprits de sa parenté.
