A partir das reflexões de Hartmut Rosa sobre aceleração e ressonância, e da noção de concorrência como modelo de subjetivação, de Pierre Dardot e Christian Laval, pretende-se discutir a alteração dos padrões de autovigilância das condutas, nomeadamente aquelas que se dão no ciclo acumulativo sempre crescente de esforços pessoais para a manutenção e superação dos padrões atuais de produção. A reflexão parte da constatação de que vivemos experiências urbanas cada vez mais aceleradas e incitadas, sobretudo, pelas práticas de consumo que resultam em experiências urbanas esgotantes e alienantes. Disso resultam experiências urbanas de pouca ou nenhuma durabilidade, marcadamente efêmeras, sem implicações territoriais para além do mero consumo do próprio espaço.
