Abstract
Este artigo parte da observação de memes de cunho machista que circularam nas redes sociais, em especial no WhatsApp, tendo por pretexto os constrangimentos impostos pela quarentena decretada durante a pandemia provocada pelo vírus Covid 19. Estes reproduziram representações e violências de gênero em forma de “humor”. Tratamos aqui de analisar, em perspectiva de gênero, as ideias veiculadas nas mensagens selecionadas, os assim chamados memes, perguntando-nos se há e qual seria a sua relação com religião. Verificou--se que a articulação entre neoliberalismo, conservadorismo político e religioso observado nos últimos anos no contexto brasileiro, concorreu para a reprodução e reforço de ideias de caráter misógino, sexista e racista/xenófobo, a fim de garantir a “imunidade” da família tradicional e a manutenção da divisão sexual do trabalho. Conclui-se que, ao disseminar tais paradigmas, o conteúdo dos memes selecionados reproduz as violências de gênero que perpassam a construção da família preconizada por grupos religiosos conservadores.
