Abstract
La seconde édition allemande du Capital paraît en neuf livraisons, entre juillet 1872 et mars 1873. Avec la permission de son éditeur — Otto Meißner —, Marx ajoute alors à l’ouvrage une courte postface dans laquelle il tente de redresser in extremis les mauvaises lectures qui auraient été faites de son livre en Europe de l’Ouest. C’est à ce texte que nous nous intéresserons dans ce commentaire linéaire, en prenant soin de le réinsérer dans le livre qu’il venait originellement renforcer et en tenant délibérément compte de l’accueil que la critique a réservé à la première édition du Capital entre 1867 et 1872.
