Abstract
Le concept de différence cranio-faciale désigne un ensemble de traits innés ou acquis qui résultent en anomalies au visage. Si la différence cranio-faciale est habituellement appréhendée comme un fait individuel, et si on y prête peu d’attention dans les définitions du handicap qui régissent les politiques du handicap, cette étude l’aborde dans ses dimensions sociales ignorées, comme on le voit entre autres dans un jugement de la Cour suprême du Canada en 2021. L’étude propose ensuite une réflexion théologique sur la manière dont l’anomalie cranio-faciale déstabilise certains schèmes culturels qui orientent nos visions du monde et dont elle invite à engager un rapport différent à la réalité et au sens de la vie.
