Abstract
Cet article étudie la présence et le traitement du son dans la mise à mort de l’adversaire dans le roman arthurien. L’autrice établit tout d’abord une définition du topos, appuyée sur un large relevé d’occurrences, qui la conduit à voir dans la sonorisation de la mort de l’ennemi une variation d’un motif plus large et plus répandu. Elle étudie ensuite l’évolution de ce topos depuis les textes épiques jusqu’aux derniers romans. Elle remarque enfin la prégnance de ces sons dans une famille de récits dont les auteurs semblent chercher à perpétuer les premières formes du récit arthurien.
