Abstract
Les versets initiaux du Super flumina évoquent le silence contraint des Israélites exilés à Babylone, qui laissent en repos leurs kinnors et refusent de chanter pour leurs vainqueurs. Entre 1700 et 1820, les nombreuses traductions, imitations et paraphrases poétiques déploient, pour orchestrer ce bouleversant silence, tout un instrumentarium dont l’analyse éclaire, par-delà la plus ou moins grande habileté des poètes, l’évolution de la conception de la poésie lyrique.
