Cet article, partant du fait que la dimension sonore de la théâtralité des Cent nouvelles nouvelles n’a pas été suffisamment mise en valeur, observe que l’évocation de certaines sonorités complète et enrichit des motifs et des situations qui sont à la base de la teneur théâtrale de l’ouvrage. Il souligne aussi l’idée que le récit prenant une direction performative comique, les traces sonores du texte sont alors autant de signes d’une dynamique du conflit, d’un univers troublé marqué par la méfiance. Le texte qui trouve sa puissance dans cette esthétique du conflit est moins forgé par la base narrative commune à d’autres récits que par le surplus performatif et sonore. Ainsi l’article conclut-il sur la réflexion que la visibilité et l’audibilité d’un texte-corps ne peuvent s’empêcher d’assumer une charge performative. Si le son ne raconte rien, il ajoute une valeur certaine à la narration.
