Abstract
Dalam mewujudkan pembangunan ekonomi baik pembangunan nasional maupun pembangunan daerah salah satunya dapat dilihat dari segi pembangunan sektoral, dimana pendekatan pembangunan sektoral adalah pencapaian sasaran pembangunan suatu wilayah yang meliputi seluruh kegiatan yang dikelompokkan atas sektor atau lapangan usaha. Kabupaten Pasaman merupakan salah satu kabupaten diantara 12 kabupaten yang berada di provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kabupaten Pasaman berada pada posisi ke 18 atau pada posisi kedua terendah yaitu sebesar 5 persen. Pembangunan di suatu wilayah seharusnya dilakukan pada sektor-sektor yang merupakan sektor unggulan. Sektor unggulan sebagai motor pengggerak sektor lainnya, oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan sektor unggulan perekonomian Kabupaten Pasaman. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu metode analisis Location Quotient, Model Rasio Pertumbuhan, Overlay, dan Tipologi Klassen. Dari hasil analisis diketahui bahwa sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan sebagai sektor unggulan yang maju dan berkembang cepat tetapi dengan laju pertumbuhan yang rendah di kabupaten Pasaman.
