Selon une perspective de criminologie culturelle, cette contribution s’intéresse aux émissions télévisées en tant que sources de l’information du public. Elle interroge leur contribution dans la formation de la défiance envers l’institution judiciaire pénale telle qu’elle est suggérée dans les sondages. L’étude consiste à mettre en évidence le cadrage (mise à l’agenda) auquel procèdent deux magazines TV français qui relatent des affaires judiciaires célèbres, Faites entrer l’accusé et Non élucidé. Les données de l’analyse sont les propos qui y sont tenus par les proches de victimes d’homicide. L’analyse identifie un cadrage principal mobilisant le pathos, et élabore quatre foyers de sens qui montrent son lien avec la défiance dans le public.
