Despite the hilarity which flows throughout the play, Ma che brava gente, as Colilli and Sansalone write in the preface, bears witness to the experiences, hardships, confusion, and success felt on every Italian Immigrants' journey.No matter how frustrated the adults become with the new adjustments or how foiled their children become with their parents' more traditional ways, familial bonds and linguistic invention facilitate personal and social triumphs.The stories are as varied and colourful as the protagonists and even the fade outs between flashbacks promise to light up our emotions and trigger our memories.The play is dedicated to the thousands of courageous and patient individuals who had the drive and strength to begin afresh in Canada and is enjoyed by all those who watch and who perform.
