Yet another source of information has become available for the study of Italian and Italians abroad: Facebook groups.Facebook (created by Mark Zukerberg), the social networking website, has been in existence since February 2004 and it is the most frequently visited site by those between 17 and 25 years of age, apparently more used by females than males (www.eMarket.com).The statistics regarding Facebook are staggering: as of the end of October 2007, there were about 50 million users worldwide who posted more than 1.7 billion photos; according to Microsoft, Facebook is worth $15 billion (Steffy), since Microsoft and Facebook announced on October 24, 2007 that Microsoft has purchased a 1.6%
