Abstract
Aestheticism is a literary movement appeared in the 18 th century appreciating beauty as the highest quality in man or nature. Lord Alfred Tennyson (1800-1892) felt the impact of the movement that consequently echoed in his poetry. This paper aims to explore Tennyson's notion of aestheticism, found in his poetry, through true analysis of many of his famous poems. Tennyson aesthetics is clear in his poetic forms as well as in his poetic contents. His aestheticism is typically based on the general credo 'Art for Art's sake', but away from its moral concepts and social matters.
