Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Cardiovascular implications for patients affected by COVID-19: integrative review Abstract: The objective is to identify the cardiovascular implications in the adult patient affected by COVID-19. This is an integrative review, seeking to analyze and systematize scientific publications on the subject. The selection took place in the MEDLINE, LILACS, IBECS and BDENF databases, through the Virtual Health Library (BVS) index, with the descriptors “Coronavirus Infections” and “Cardiovascular Diseases”. 617 articles were found, with 1 being duplicated. Exclusion criteria were: theses, dissertations, case reports, review studies and those which did not answer the research question. Fourteen studies met the criteria and demonstrated that critically ill patients with COVID-19 and cardiovascular disease had a significantly higher mortality risk than non-critical patients. The following cardiovascular implications were identified in patients with COVID-19: direct virus-mediated cardiotoxicity, hypoxia-related injury, immune-mediated cytokine storm, systemic inflammation, pericardial infection, apoptosis, among others. The observation supports clinical protocols which anticipate this clinical deterioration more quickly. Descriptors: Cardiovascular Implications, COVID-19, Mortality Risk.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
