Abstract
Cette entrée aborde le concept classique d'extractivisme, ainsi que dans ses nouvelles frontières en pleine expansion. L’extractivisme est concept qui provient essentiellement d’intellectuels d’Amérique du Sud, dont le chercheur uruguayen Eduardo Gudynas, la sociologue argentine Maristella Svampa (2013) et l’économiste équatorien Alberto Acosta (2013). Il vise à analyser l’industrie des ressources naturelles d’un point de vue critique, un secteur dominé par les pays du Nord. Cependant, dans les dernières années, le concept s'est décentré géographiquement des études latino-américaines et, de façon croissante, est utilisé dans des études abordant des territoires autochtones au Nord. En outre, la notion n'est plus le propre des ressources naturelles, mais se réfère à un mode d'extraction plus global qui peut concerner des ressources d'autres natures, comme les savoirs, les personnes humaines ou non-humaines, etc.
