Techniquement, la ville intelligente est un artefact particulier basé sur l’idée de la mobilisation des données produites par des objets connectés insérées dans le bâti visant à surveiller un ensemble de processus en temps réel (fluidité de la circulation automobile, qualité de l’eau potable distribuée dans le réseau municipal, …) pour automatiser de manière instantanée les mesures à mettre en place suivant la situation observée. Mais la ville intelligente transporte également une idéologie spécifique de la ville et de l’espace, et n’évolue pas dans un isolat. La ville intelligente demande donc à être appréhendée à travers des concepts permettant de la comprendre au mieux.
