Abstract

Objetivo: analisar as dificuldades vivenciadas por familiares para a reinserção social do idoso com transtorno mental. Materiais e Método: estudo qualitativo fundamentado nos pressupostos do Modelo Calgary de Avaliação Familiar. Tal estudo foi desenvolvido com 16 familiares de idosos portadores de transtorno mental atendidos em um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial II localizado na cidade do Recife. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um diário de campo e de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Com os dados colhidos, foram elaborados genogramas, ecomapas e realizada a análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Resultados: os resultados analisados a partir de análise de conteúdo indicaram dois temas: na fragilidade da família: enfrentando a reinserção social do idoso com transtorno mental; e a experiência nas relações do idoso na família e na sociedade. Conclusões: a situação social do idoso revela a necessidade de discussões mais aprofundadas sobre as relações do idoso na família e na sociedade, de modo a proporcionar benefícios em prol da efetiva reinserção social.
