Abstract
Cet article porte sur l’évolution du statut que les anthologies de littérature mondiale reconnaissent à la littérature africaine francophone. Il démontre que jusque dans les années 1960, les anthologies insistaient surtout sur la dimension mondiale de cette littérature. Elles ont ensuite eu tendance à ne lui accorder qu’une place marginale. Cependant, ces dernières années, les anthologies perçoivent, à nouveau, la littérature africaine comme une littérature mondiale. L’article explique que les anthologies ont été informées par la manière dont la littérature africaine a été chargée, d’abord de réhabiliter les Noirs dans leur humanité puis, de légitimer les nations africaines. Les anthologies sont, aujourd’hui, sensibles au fait que la littérature africaine revendique, désormais, sa dimension littéraire et une place au centre du champ littéraire mondial.
