Abstract
Batak Toba merupakan salah satu suku terbesar di Indonesia. Suku Batak Toba dikenali dengan banyak nama keluarga yang disebut sebagai marga, salah satunya adalah marga Samosir. Salah satu karakter Suku Batak Toba adalah merantau dan membentuk komunitas di tempat perantauan sehingga tetap saling terhubung satu sama lain. Komunitas ini dapat mewakili marga, asal daerah, agama, dan lainnya seperti perkumpulan marga Samosir se-JABODETABEK. Perkumpulan ini terdiri dari sejumlah banyak anggota yang mewakili beberapa wilayah di JABODETABEK antara lain Bogor, Jakarta Timur, Jakarta Selatan, Bekasi Barat, Bekasi Timur, Depok, Tangerang Selatan, dan lainnya. Keberadaan anggota yang sangat besar ini membutuhkan pengelolaan data keanggotaan yang efektif sehingga memudahkan pengurus pusat maupun setiap kordinator wilayah dalam operasional kegiatannya, menyusun rencana strategis perkumupulan, serta dalam proses pengambilan keputusan terkait perkumpulan. Secara spesifik bagi suku Batak Toba, terdapat dua data khusus (tarombo) sebagai data pendukung. Data special ini tidak dimiliki oleh komunitas kesukuan lainnya. Adapun data khusus ini adalah nomor urut dalam silsilah keluarganya serta nama ompu setiap kepala keluarga. Data khusus akan mempengaruhi tata cara pemanggilan serta posisi seorang dalam setiap kegiatan adat baik suka maupun duka. Data personal, data keluarga, serta data khusus ini menjadi sangat penting dalam komuntas kemargaan sehingga membutuhkan media yang efektif untuk pengelolaannya. Salah satu media yang disuulkan dalam penelitian ini adalah website. Berdasarkan data yang terkumpul melalui website menunjukkan bahwa dari 600 sekian anggota marga Samosir Se-JABODETABEK telah teridentifikasi sekita 450 data atau sekitar 75% selama proses pendataan dalam dua bulan.
