De nombreuses recherches francophones et anglophones soulignent que la relation enseignant-élèves est au cœur de la réussite éducative des enfants, comme du bien-être des enfants et des enseignants à l’école. Cette relation est considérée ici comme une globalité intégrant à la fois les caractéristiques des enseignants, les perceptions et les représentations des enseignants et des élèves, leurs interactions. Dans cet article théorique et réflexif, les différentes locutions ayant un lien avec le concept de relation enseignant-élèves sont présentées. Puis, le modèle Teaching Through Interactions est expliqué, modèle reconnu internationalement et qui permet de mieux comprendre l’importance d’interactions de qualité dans un contexte scolaire. Enfin, ce modèle étant en lien avec les recommandations internationales, il permet de mettre en lumière des pistes de réflexion quant au changement de pratiques des enseignants pour l’amélioration de leur relation avec leurs élèves.
