Organizado na sequência do volume dedicado ao tema “Corpo RE(des)Coberto”, o presente dossiê – “Cidade (RE)vestida” – apresenta seis artigos que abordam a cidade a partir das múltiplas “peles” que a recobrem. O “corpo citadino” é analisado através das representações e não-representações em festas, paisagens, ambiências, identidades, arquétipos, estereótipos, contradições, personagens, estilos, estéticas, políticas, modos e modas com que a cidade se mostra em diversos espaços e tempos. Através de um enfoque multidisciplinar, visa-se prosseguir, aprofundar e ampliar a linha de pesquisa sobre a relação corpo-vestimenta-cidade (MAIA, 2021), expondo relações forjadas no âmbito citadino que contribuem para a atração, inserção ou o expurgo de determinados sujeitos sociais, para a ampliação e afirmação ou restrição e negação de seu protagonismo político, bem como para a valorização ou obsolescência de dado espaço e/ou área urbana num contexto em que, cada vez mais, a cidade é tomada como uma mercadoria, mas sem perder a sua proteiformidade.
