Neste texto, procuro responder à questão sobre como a fotografia produzida por pessoas negras têm adentrado os espaços expositivos de arte no Brasil nos últimos anos. Tomo textos de catálogos e outros documentos de exposições de grande visibilidade, para procurar situar os critérios através dos quais as imagens produzidas por fotógrafos negros têm ocupado as mesmas instâncias que as imagens feitas por fotógrafos brancos sobre grupos e pessoas negras. Essa mudança tenta responder às demandas dos grupos sociais afrodescendentes por novas narrativas sobre seu protagonismo na sociedade brasileira e na diáspora negra, como forma de enfrentamento das desigualdades raciais que estruturam, inclusive, as relações entre os agentes sociais, as instituições e a História da Arte.
