Abstract
En este trabajo presentamos una investigacióninicial sobre las prácticas de las pequeñas y medianasempresas de Jalisco, México referente a las políticassobre su gestión energética sustentable. Partiendo dela filosofía de cambio y desarrollo organizacionalsostenible, la responsabilidad social empresarial, elámbito ambiental del desarrollo sostenible y lasexigencias del mercado global. Se aplicó un cuestionario de desarrollo propio a los dueños oencargados de las PYME sobre prácticas de DesarrolloSustentable enfocados a la gestión energética, sobre unamuestra representativa de más de 200 empresas de laregión. Los primeros resultados encontrados fueron queuna tercera parte de las PYME entrevistadas realizanprácticas de gestión energética sustentable en formasistematizada, además que se encontró asociación conaquellas PYME que realizan estas prácticas y a su vezimplementan investigación y desarrollo propio, aplicaninnovación, además de que pertenecen a un grupoexterno y un nivel de educación alto del empresario.
