Este estudio identifica el patrimonio cultural tangible que ha generado la devoción a San Isidro Labrador en Costa Rica. Para ello, se analizan las edificaciones con declaratoria de patrimonio arquitectónico cultural del Estado, bajo el patrocinio de este santo, y se revisan las esculturas de San Isidro existentes en 75 lugares de culto católico, seleccionados a partir de 3 criterios: 1. iglesias católicas dispuestas bajo el título de San Isidro; 2. iglesias católicas situadas en pueblos en los que se realizan desfiles en honor al santo labrador, en el mes de mayo; 3. iglesias católicas con declaratoria de patrimonio cultural, según la Ley 7555 de la República de Costa Rica.
