Résumer le récit de pièces étudiées, c'est une habitude a la fois pédagogique et sémiotique mais c'est aussi une manière de faire violence au texte.' De plus, avec un théatre qui a fait siennes certaines techniques d'avant-garde, le résumé rigoureux du récit devient pratiquement impossible.Dans le cas des pièces de Micone il faut ajouter que la linéarité narrative est bafouée, que les personnages changent de nom et que le discours polémique envahit parfois le texte au point qu'il rabaisse ce dernier au niveau zéro de littérarité.? L'art semble parfois disparaître sous la fragmentation d'un essai sociologique disséminé dans le texte.Cette absence n'est peut-étre qu'un nouvel effet d'art.On ne peut donc, en premier lieu, offrir au lecteur qu'une perception de la narration et non un résumé objectif.Dans Gens du silence le sujet de la pièce ne semble faire aucun doute dès l'épigraphe: "Si l'émigration avait pu aider à l'émancipation de la classe ouvrière, elle n'aurait jamais existé" (9).La morale est ainsi suivie du long apologue.En 1959 Antonio Rossi quitte son village natal du sud de l'Italie pour aller travailler dans le bâtiment à Montréal.Quelques années plus tard, "au début des années 60" (35), sa femme Anna et sa fille Annunziata qui s'appellera plus tard Nancy vont rejoindre Antonio à Montréal.Anna se met tout de suite au travail: pour un salaire de misère elle coud chez elle à longueur de journée.Antonio ne tardera pas à imiter = AD
