De strafbaarstelling en sanctionering van EU-sancties: een uniforme strafrechtelijke aanpak Het is inmiddels meer dan een jaar geleden dat de militaire Russische inval in Oekraïne plaatsvond. Vanuit de Europese Unie zijn sinds februari 2022 tien sanctiepakketten uitgevaardigd met een veelheid aan sancties tegen Rusland. De uitvoering en handhaving van de EU-sancties betreft in de eerste plaats de verantwoordelijkheid van de EU-lidstaten zelf, met grote verschillen in uitvoering, implementatie en handhaving van de sancties tot gevolg. De Europese Commissie acht een gemeenschappelijke strafrechtelijke aanpak noodzakelijk en heeft een voorstel gepubliceerd voor de harmonisatie van de strafbaarstelling van schendingen van EU-sancties en de sanctionering daarvan.
