Abstract
This book is one of the major outcomes of the Searching for Peace in Asia Pacific project of the European Centre for Conflict Prevention (ECCP).Numerous individuals and organizations from the Asia Pacific region, Europe, the United States, and Canada provided their advice, insights, and support in shaping the project, participated in workshops and seminars, gave feedback on draft texts, contributed chapters for the book, and assisted in the compilation of the directory.The book represents the involvement and ideas of many more persons than those whose names are mentioned as authors.We are indebted to all of them.The project would not have been possible without generous grants from several funding sources.We are grateful to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom, and the
