Abstract
Cet article examine le développement de la conscience et de l’organisation sociale des ouvrières de l’industrie du vêtement à Mexico, suite au tremblement de terre de 1985. On démontre comment une crise soudaine et tragique, s’insérant cependant dans un contexte de système de domination en déclin, a mené à rupture entre les dominées d’un côté, le parti au pouvoir, ses institutions, ainsi que le patronat de l’autre. Nous faisons également une brève critique de la notion du développement de la conscience de classe de Michael Burawoy.
