Abstract
L’analyse du cas des Abisi montre que dans le contexte de la diversité socio-culturelle du plateau de Jos, la frontière ethnique résulte d’un processus structural fondé sur la différenciation des systèmes matrimoniaux. Cette frontière était perméable aux échanges interethniques mais l’intervention de l’État en a limité la portée. Au moment des rites de pluie, les débats des Abisi concernant leur identité ethnique face aux groupes dominants et à la situation de changement social qu’ils connaissent, réaffirment leur appartenance aux populations minoritaires de la région.
