Abstract
O mastocitoma é uma neoplasia maligna onde ocorre proliferação anormal dos mastócitos, acometendo com maior frequencia cães com idade entre oito a nove anos, sem predisposição por sexo, sendo predisposto as raças Boxer, Boston Terrier, Bull Terrier, Labrador Retriever, Fox Terrier, Beagle, Schnauzer, Daschund, Buldogue Inglês, Cocker Spaniel. O tumor se apresenta consistência macia a firme de coloração diversa, mas principalmente branca e vermelho, com desenvolvimento de nódulos solitários, duros, eritematosos e ulcerativos, além da ocorrência da formação de placas, além do aumento de volume, vermelhidão e prurido no local. São classificados em três graus de malignidade, tumores em graus I (bem diferenciado), grau II (moderadamente diferenciado) e grau III (pouco diferenciado), essa classificação é para auxiliar o clínico no tratamento a ser realizado, o prognóstico vai depender da localização, número de tumor e presença de ulceração. Objetivou-se com este trabalho, relatar um caso de mastocitoma de grau II em um cão, da raça Pinscher, com quinze anos de idade dando ênfase a conduta terapêutica e bem-estar animal.
