Cofondatrice et conseillère en mobilisation des connaissances chez Communagir Native de Saint-Bruno au Lac-Saint-Jean, Sonia Racine est titulaire d'un baccalauréat de l'UQAC ainsi que d'une maîtrise (option en organisation communautaire) de l'Université Laval en travail social.Durant une dizaine d'années, ses sujets de recherche ont été la sécurité alimentaire à travers les pratiques alternatives au dépannage alimentaire dans une perspective d'empowerment.Elle a en effet eu la chance de travailler en étroite collaboration avec William A. Ninacs (Bill) dès 1991, une référence majeure en matière d'empowerment, qui a été un de ses mentors.Puis, elle a enseigné en organisation communautaire à l'UQAC et à l'Université Laval pendant plusieurs années, en plus d'accompagner des organisations et des regroupements dans leurs objectifs de développement.Par la suite, Sonia Racine s'est consacrée aux études doctorales en travail social à l'Université de Montréal.Son sujet de recherche portait sur les dimensions du processus de mobilisation citoyenne et sur ce qui le favorise dans un contexte de lutte contre la pauvreté et l'exclusion sociale.Avec la Coopérative de consultation en développement La Clé, elle a accompagné plusieurs organismes communautaires, institutions, acteurs municipaux, groupes citoyens et regroupements intersectoriels dans différentes démarches de développement.C'est avec les membres de la Coop qu'a été réfléchie et expérimentée l'organisation Communagir, pour laquelle elle a occupé le poste de conseillère en développement collectif pendant 10 ans.Elle y travaille aujourd'hui en tant que conseillère en mobilisation des connaissances.Fondée en 2011, Communagir a pour mission de contribuer à ce que les collectivités du Québec soient en mesure de réaliser les changements qu'elles jugent nécessaires à leur développement collectif.
