Abstract
L’article propose une relecture la controverse insécablement politique et épistémologique qui prend forme dans le problème musulman en France. Il retrace deux de ses motifs constitutifs : l’un libéral qui correspond au paradigme de la lutte contre la radicalisation, l’autre conservateur apparaissant avec la thèse du séparatisme islamiste. En creux de la dispute autour du problème musulman, il s’agit ensuite de retrouver le motif manquant – celui que l’on affirme socialiste – en vue d’appréhender autrement, de façon tout à fait sociologique, la réaffiliation religieuse parmi les immigrés et leurs enfants. Ce motif refoulé dans notre conscience collective est fondé sur l’appréhension du social comme dimension sui generis , irréductible tant à son identification libérale à une classe d’éléments reliés par l’analogie de propriétés sociales qu’à la réaction conservatrice déliant la nation des solidarités pratiques qui ne cessent pourtant de la parcourir. Intrinsèquement sociologique et politique, le motif socialiste se découvre en filigrane de la refondation réflexive qui prend forme dans le réinvestissement de la tradition islamique parmi les immigrés et leurs enfants.
