Abstract
Eine neue, süß duftende Bulbine-Art, B. gondwanae N.H.G.Jacobsen & K.J.Koen, die nahezu sympatrisch mit der ähnlichen B. lagopus (Thunb.) N. E. Br. vorkommt, wird aus dem Gondwana-Wildreservat in der Nähe von Mossel Bay im Westkap beschrieben. Ein morphologischer Vergleich zeigt, dass die neue Art von der letzteren unterschieden ist, und obwohl beide Arten in der Fynbos-Vegetation wachsen, unterscheiden sie sich durch ihre Lebensräume und anscheinend unterschiedliche Blühzeiten. Eine Auswertung der iNaturalistEinträge zu B. lagopus und B. abyssinica, um möglicherweise falsch bestimmte Pflanzen der Neuheit jenseits der Grenzen des Wildreservats ausfindig zu machen, schlug fehl.
