Après un premier état des lieux publié en 2011 dans Bilan de la recherche archéologique en Basse-Normandie 1984-2004 121 , cet article dresse un panorama le plus complet possible du paysage religieux romain, en contexte urbain et rural, au sein des huit civitates couvrant à peu près le territoire actuel de la Normandie occidentale. Des simples temples sans galerie jusqu’aux complexes à temples multiples, en passant par le très traditionnel et très diffusé temple à plan centré ( fanum ), il s’agit de rendre compte de la diversité des morphologies, des architectures et des configurations cultuelles, sur presque six siècles. L’article aborde également la question des mobiliers présents dans les sanctuaires et des aménagements particuliers qui pourraient parfois éclairer les pratiques rituelles ou permettre d’identifier les divinités auxquelles il est rendu hommage.
